1. What is Restoring Hope?

Restoring Hope is a holistic child development program that seeks to improve the lives of Syrian refugee children who have been impacted by war and violence by providing them with a quality education, in a safe, loving environment.

  2. Does Restoring hope give my money Directly to My sponsored CHild’s Family?

No, the monthly donations of our sponsors are pooled together in order to fund the operations of our partner school and its child development programs.

  3. How Does Restoring Hope work?

Restoring Hope strategically matches Syrian refugee children from our partner school with loving sponsors who invest directly in the life of their sponsored child with a small monthly donation. These children attend school in a safe, loving environment where they receive not only the love and attention they need, but are afforded life-changing opportunities that would otherwise be beyond their reach. The funds of our sponsors are pooled together to fund the operations of our partner school and its child development programs with oversight and accountability by Urban Catalyst and its board.

  4. How much does it cost to sponsor a child through Restoring Hope?

Sponsoring a child through Restoring Hope costs $45 a month. It’s a significant commitment, but a sponsor’s monthly support makes an incredible difference in the life of the sponsored child.

  5. Is my monthly sponsorship contribution Tax-Deductible?

Yes, Restoring Hope is a project of Urban Catalyst, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, all donations and sponsorship contributions are tax-deductible.

  6. Does each child only have one sponsor?

Yes, Restoring Hope is a one-to-one sponsorship program. We hope that our sponsors will develop relationships with their sponsored children writing them and praying for them regularly. In addition, this one-to-one relationship provides children with a family from the United States that cares about them and wants to give them hope and a future.

  7. What specific benefits does my sponsored child receive?

The children Restoring Hope serves attend school in a safe, loving environment where they receive not only the love and attention they need to grow in self-confidence and social skills, but are afforded life-changing opportunities that would otherwise be beyond their reach. In addition to receiving access to ongoing education and vocational training these children receive daily meals, access to medical and vision services, trauma care, protection from abuse, violence and exploitation, personal attention, guidance and love.

  8. Does a Child have to be sponsored to attend the School?

No, our goal is to find loving sponsors for all the children attending our partner school in Jordan. The monthly donations of all our sponsors are then pooled together in order to fund the school’s operations and its child development programs. Our sponsorship program has two main goals, the first is to provide consistent monthly funding for the school. The second is to connect sponsors and children, showing them that despite everything they have experienced there are real people around the world who care. We believe that the love of sponsors has the ability to change the trajectory of these children’s lives.

  9. If I am no longer able to sponsor my child, what happens to Him/her?

While we hate to loose sponsors, we understand that circumstances change. If a sponsor leaves the program we do our best to find a new sponsor for the child quickly. However, a child’s participation in the program is not dependent upon sponsorship. Once a child is accepted into the school they will continue to receive all the benefits of the programs offered. Urban Catalyst is committed to doing everything in our power to keep this program funded.

  10. I can’t commit to $45 a month, Can I still participate?

Yes! While the sponsorship program covers the majority of the expenses of the school there is still a need for additional funding to cover additional budgeted school expenses, including the participation of unsponsored children, special programs and events at the school, as well as future expansion. You can give monthly or make a single donation here.
